World champion axeman Brian 'Bill' Youd and members of his family talk of his early life, the value of woodchopping in his family, and explore what is it means to be a legend?

ABOUT 

Axeman: The Beginnings of a Champion is a short documentary exploring the early life, family, and accomplishment of world record holding axeman Brian 'Bill' Youd. Filmed in Tasmania, this documentary centres around family and the legacy of the Youd sons, told through the perspective of Bill Youd, his wife, and his sister.

The Youd family name is well know in the wood chopping community. Albert Youd, a competitive axeman who died in a bush accident, had eight children. All seven of his sons chopped, winning hundreds of national world championships in every category of wood chopping between them, and several were inducted into the Axeman Hall of Fame (Centre for Tasmanian Historical Studies, 2006)

This documentary is currently on display at the Latrobe Axeman Hall of Fame in Tasmania
